All About Carey
Interesting version:
Originally from California, I currently reside four miles from downtown Cincinnati with three badly behaved pets, two delightfully challenging children, and one incredibly supportive soul mate.
Since high school, I have bummed around Europe, learned Italian, found a job that I love, and written three novels for teens.
Things that haven’t changed since high school: my love of punk rock and Mohawks; infatuation with John Hughes films; feeling like I don’t fit in (unfortunately it doesn’t end with high school).
Things that have changed since high school: love of rollercoasters (not so fun when you get old); having free time; finally knowing what fulfills me as an individual; not caring so much that I don’t fit in.
Professional version:
Carey is a PRO member of the Romance Writers of America and an active member of the local and YA chapters, OVRWA and YARWA. Her edgy guardian angel story, THE HALO CHRONICLES: THE GUARDIAN is a RWA National 2010 Golden Heart YA finalist.
In April 2009, Carey formed The Southgate School Library Project. Since its inception, THE SSLP has raised over 200 current middle grade and YA books for the Southgate Independent Public School (pre-K – 8th grade) and encourages the global community to make a difference in their own public schools.
She currently resides with her family in the greater Cincinnati area.
